Crimson became a trio after David Cross left the band. This is the last studio album by the strongest lineup. The band entered the studio while the excitement of the 1974 North American tour had not yet cooled down and produced this dangerous masterpiece, as if they were running with torches in a powder keg. The classic songs "Red" and "Starless," which have won the support of Crimson fans, are included on this album. The anniversary stereo mix by Steven Wilson, who respected the one-of-a-kind presence of the original master and kept it clean, is now available on SHM-CD for the first time. The E-style paper jacket reproduces as much as possible the British Island label's first edition artwork, which has an appealing presence that glints in the darkness.
