Ye Xiaogang is a contemporary Chinese composer. He has received prestigious awards not only for his concert music, but also for his numerous film scores. The four pieces on this album all depict Chinese nature and beautiful scenery. As a composer who specializes in film music, he depicts each piece in an easy-to-understand style with a high level of descriptive power. Emeishan," which depicts a sacred mountain known as one of the three most sacred mountains in China, is a mystical work that combines the sounds of the violin and traditional Chinese musical instruments. The other three pieces are "Lam La Kuo (Sacred Lake in Tibet)" for violin and string ensemble with a beautiful melody, "Silence of the Minshan Mountains" with a gentle melody for string ensemble, and "Scent of Green Mango" with an impressive piano sound created by superb technique.
