Johan Smith has won numerous competition awards, including first prize at the 2019 GFA (Guitar Foundation of America) International Guitar Competition. For this album, he has arranged for guitar five thought-provoking "Childhood" pieces by five different composers, and plays them with a sensitive and expressive tone. In Schubert's "The Mad King," which is placed at the beginning of the album, he fully demonstrates his skillful technique, playing the Child, the Father, and the Mad King with great skill on the guitar. Johann Smith was born in Geneva in 1990 and received his postgraduate degree from the University of Lausanne. He studied guitar under Dagobert Lignares. He is a versatile artist, touring the world with his metal band "Stortregn", as well as a graphic designer, while working as a performer and teacher. Naxos Japan
