This is the second Philip Glass album by ANALEKTA's signature violinist, Angelle Dubeau, and her string ensemble, La Pietà, following the 2008 release of Portraits (AN28727). It also includes film music from "A Brief History of Time" and "Bent: A Fallen Feast" by "Hawking on the Universe". All have their own arrangements, with the exception of a movement from Symphony No. 3 for string orchestra and a duet for violin and cello. This disc is full of rich lyricism and beauty, starting with "Metamorphosis," a well-known piano piece. Naxos Japan
