The second Mozart concerto by Richard Amrand & Cohen] Charles Richard Amrand and the Quebec chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roi, led by Jonathan Cohen, have released their second Mozart concerto, following No. 22 and No. 24, which were released in 2020. The orchestration at the beginning of No. 20 is full of energy, and Cohen, who specializes in baroque operas, is in his element. Richard-Amran seems to have entered the piece without hesitation and leads the music very naturally with a rich sense of phrasing. The cadenza of No. 20 is his own composition, and he shows his versatility in the first movement, which begins in a double fugue style and develops dramatically, and in the third movement, which is rich in color and sprinkled with vivid techniques.
