A visit to a pub in old London! A visit to a London pub in the olden days by Prisma, the next generation of old-time music ensemble that explores the gap between old-time music and folk music with folk instruments. However, Playford's country dance collection "The English Dance Teacher," published in mid-17th century republican England, includes many dances that were loved and played in the popular society. This project is an attempt to recreate a "night in a pub" that gives a glimpse of the lively atmosphere of the Baroque period, starting from this collection and including traditional Irish and Scottish dances. To convey the bustle of the theater that delighted the people of the time, excerpts from Purcell's and Eccles' stage music are also included. Beautiful melodies played by recorders and mandolins, fiddles (violins) riding on booming rhythms, and highly transparent voices, even Ralph McTell's 1969 classic "Streets of London" and the theme from the movie "Titanic" appear among them. The slow, fluid sound design brings back the intimacy of a bygone era, and you are guaranteed to feel as if you are sitting in the same room with musicians from hundreds of years ago. Naxos Japan
