Description:
Carlo Jans started playing the flute at the age of 7 and also began playing the violin at the age of 12. He studied at the Royal Conservatory of Liège and the Royal Conservatory of Maastricht, and took master classes with András Adrian at the Cologne Music Academy before beginning his career as a flutist. His repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, and many composers have written works for him. This album includes the world premiere recording of Bord's "Basque Suite," as well as other works familiar to flute lovers. Along with the neat accompaniment of the Martineau Quartet, Englihover's harp complements Jans' flute with its stylish sound. Naxos Japan
