It has been 300 years since the composition of the super masterpiece "The Four Seasons". Naoto Sakiya and Akinori Yamada, two musicians, meet and create together.
Naoto Sakiya (Vn.), a leading figure in the chamber music scene, concert master and solo recitalist, and Akinori Yamada (Bass), a concert support and recording artist in a wide range of genres including pop, jazz and rock. Re: Vivaldi" is the result of the encounter of these two players from different genres and generations. The title "Re:" is a unique form of "If I were to reply directly to Vivaldi..." The purpose of the title is to reconstruct the piece using sounds that transcend various genres, including modern electric instruments.
Because "The Four Seasons" is familiar to everyone's ears, the project does not end as a mere "arrangement," but rather, with almost no modifications to the string score, the bass continuo group is newly written for electric bass, keyboards, and drums, resulting in a total of 12 pieces (4 pieces x 3 movements).
For the CD jacket, Minatomirai Station was chosen as the filming location, and the key visuals were chosen to evoke Vivaldi's hometown of Florence, the commonality of the port city as a relay point where various cultures intersect, and to compare this work, which fuses a wide variety of genres, to a "terminal.
