This compilation album celebrates the 10th anniversary of Astropolis Records, a record label derived from the long-established French rave festival Astropolis. From the world's top acts who are heavyweights of the scene and regulars at the festival to the newest up-and-comers of the next generation, all gathered for this project! The album features a series of exciting hybrid sounds that can be described as the very spirit of the festival itself, a mixture of various styles such as techno, electro, house, EDM, industrial, dub, electronica and trance! Astropolis Records is a newly launched record label started by the festival crew in the mid-1990s to hook up with young artists from the local scene. This is an anniversary compilation to celebrate their 10 years of activity. The participating artists include Electric Rescue and Manu Le Malin, both leading figures in French techno, Rone, one of the leading French electronic acts of the decade, Mezigue, a fresh breath of fresh air in the ongoing French electronic scene, and the next generation of acts expected to break out even further. The next generation act Swooh is expected to make a breakthrough in the future.KiNK and Legowelt also appeared from the international scene. Legowelt & Cuften's "Liar" seems to mix the early impulses of electroclash with emotional boogie and techno; Mezigue & Swooh pound out uplifting ghetto techno on "Broken Roll To Venice"; and KiNK is a staple of the live set, swirling with breakbeat and vintage house (yet still a staple of the live set). KiNK brought out their classic (but previously unreleased) "Give Me," a live set staple that swirls breakbeat and vintage house. Manu Le Malin & Kmyle's "Little Big Man" is also a treat, with the raw essence of hardcore techno and industrial laid bare. This is a powerful work full of unique hybrid sounds filled with overwhelming energy while paying respect to classic techno. The great creative energy of this album blows the boundaries of genres to smithereens and opens up the future of dance music.
