Description:

Antonio Pappano, born in Italy in 1959, made his debut at the Norwegian Opera in 1987 after working as an assistant to Daniel Barenboim at the Bayreuth Festival. Two years later, he became Music Director of the Royal Opera House of Belgium (Theatre de la Monnaie). Having already achieved international fame, Pappano became Music Director of the Royal Opera House (Covent Garden) in 2002, a contract that was extended until 2017. Since 2005, he has also been the Music Director of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, where he conducts symphonic, orchestral, and other non-operatic works. He has been fully demonstrating his outstanding talent. The two symphonies by Schumann (1810-1856) are conducted by the careful and meticulous Pappano. The first recorded symphony, Symphony No. 2 in C major, was composed between 1845 and 1846.Schumann, who was in a somewhat unstable state of mind at the time, took a long time to complete this piece, resulting in an extremely grandiose work with a richly romantic third movement and a fourth movement that is highlighted by the characteristic timpani barrage. The "No. 4" was actually composed before the "No. 2," in 1841, when Pappano had just married Clara, but later revisions were made and the work was released as the "No. 4. Pappano brings out the beauty of the strings and the delicate sound of the woodwinds to the utmost limit, creating music that is uniquely Schumann. Naxos Japan
