Pearl Jam made their live debut in October 1990 and released their debut album "ten" in August 1991, which later became a mega-hit in the U.S. alone, selling 13 million copies. Six months later, in March 1992, at the very time when their popularity was exploding, they appeared on the legendary "MTV Unplugged," a live acoustic studio show, to great acclaim. The 90s were a particularly prosperous time for the show, which featured one big name performer after another, including Aerosmith, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Page & Plant, and many others. The fact that these newcomers, who had only just made their debut, were chosen to appear on the stage amidst all this is not only a great selection, but also shows how popular they were among the young people of the time.The presence of Eddie Vedder, who gives an uncanny, full-bodied performance with a serious eye even in an acoustic setting in an at-home space, is already unparalleled.
