The only album by A Raincoat, a British niche pop band that condenses the sounds of Pilot, ELO, Queen, etc. and inherits the Beatles' DNA, is now available for the first time on CD in a long-awaited paper jacket format! (Original release: 1975/EMI Records)A Raincoat is a four-piece band that was sent out by EMI in the UK as a rock band next to Pilot and Queen. In reality, they were a niche pop studio project led by Andy Arthurs, who was on the staff of Air Studios in London. Their only album (recorded at Trident Studios, the same studio as Queen) is a hidden masterpiece of 70s British pop, with a beatish pop sensibility similar to 10CC, Sailor, Sparks, and others, mixed with a theatrical taste of glam rock.
