Overwhelming dynamism, beautiful and deep lyricism. The Tchaikovsky series started with the release of No. 6 "Pathetique" in May 2005, and this disc is the fifth in the series! This is the latest recording, made in Rudolfinum in late June. The roar of the brass is overwhelmingly coherent from the beginning. The Czech Philharmonic's full strings sing in a way that only the Czech Philharmonic can. The woodwinds draw rounded lines as if intertwined with them. The brilliant sounds of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra were finely detailed and integrated by Marzal while maintaining dynamic energy.
