Description:

A beautiful melody that shifts and changes like a kaleidoscope. Billy Aidi, a longtime friend and renowned pianist, performs piano works by the French contemporary composer Guy Sacre! French composer Guy Sacre (1948–) is active in a wide range of fields related to classical music, including as a composer, pianist, music advisor, and music critic. His longtime friend and pianist Billy Aidi has recorded Sacre’s piano works! “Children’s Songs” is a series of short pieces. He composed the first installment, “Children’s Songs,” in 1978, followed by “New Children’s Songs” in 2003 and “The Last Children’s Songs” in 2012. This recording features “The Last Children’s Songs.” Although he is a contemporary composer, his music is imbued with French esprit—featuring sounds reminiscent of Impressionism and beautiful melodies that bring to mind composers like Keckland. The sonatinas inspired by the four seasons were composed over a ten-year period from 1989 to 1998. These were also completed as a cycle, and listening to them together allows you to fully appreciate the “Four Seasons” as depicted by Sakuru. The “13 Improvisations,” composed in 2013, are, so to speak, a sequel to the “24 Preludes” composed in 1983. The improvisational melodies, shifting like a kaleidoscope, exude a unique charm. The performer, Billy Eady, was born in 1955. He studied at the École Normale de Musique under renowned musicians such as Magda Taliarferro and Jean Mikko. Aidi’s radiant performances embody the very spirit he inherited from the French masters. Currently, as a professor at the Schola Cantorum and the Paris Regional Conservatory, he is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians and is a well-known performer in Japan as well.
