Brossard, Bouteiller, Raison A collection of works by the motet masters who led 17th century France, by Les Arts Florissants led by Paul Agnew. Brossard, a composer himself, was also an avid collector of the autographs of his predecessors, which he donated to the Royal Library in 1724. Among them was Bouteiller's Missa Pro Defunctis, which he considered the finest work in his collection. The program is centered on the works of these French masters and seems to highlight the chapels and choirs that grew in importance during the reign of Louis XIV. King International
