From "Carmen" to "Bolero" - an unprecedented concert showcasing the best of French music. Along with the New Year's Concert, the "Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert" is one of the Vienna Philharmonic's most famous events, an open-air concert held at Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This year marks the first appearance of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, who is music director of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Metropolitan Opera and has a close relationship with the Vienna Philharmonic. The theme is "The Best of French Music. The program will trace the fascination of the colorful and emotionally rich music of the French Romantic and Impressionist periods through a variety of performances ranging from Bizet to Boulanger. The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's virtuoso performances of Ravel's famous "Daphnis et Chloe" and "Bolero" are included in the program. Soloists for the three operatic arias will be Latvian-born Elina Galancha, also making her concert debut. The Vienna Philharmonic, which gave its all in this open-air concert, gave an unprecedentedly passionate performance, which was vividly recorded. Yannick Nézet-Séguin was born in Montreal, Canada in 1975.He studied at the Montreal Conservatory of Music and was instructed by Giulini and others. After working with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, she is currently Music Director of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Metropolitan Opera. Elina Galancha was born in Riga, Latvia in 1976. She is a performing singer at major opera houses and festivals around the world. Sony Music
