Louis Lortie's new series "Faure Recital" starts! A new series of "Faure Recitals" by Canada's world-renowned charismatic pianist, Louis Lortie, has begun! Lortie has established his reputation as an excellent "Chopin player", but he is also highly acclaimed for his masterpieces of French music such as Ravel (CHAN 10142X), Poulenc (CHAN 10875), Saint-Saens (CHSA 5162) and the fascinating melodies and harmony of Gabriel Faure, This new series of recordings of Gabriel Fauré's fascinating melodies and harmonies with the beautiful sound of the Fazioli piano is also highly anticipated. The first volume of this series is full of Fauré's famous melodies, including "After a Dream" arranged by Grainger, the suite (including Sicilienne) from "Pelléas et Mélisande" arranged by the composer himself (1st, 2nd, and 4th movements) and Alfred Cortot (3rd movement), and the famous "Pavane" arranged by Louis Lorti.
