The album includes the labor songs "The Wellerman," "Santiana," and "Drunken Saillor" (with Simon Keenlyside), the Bahamian sea song "Sloop John B" (with Fisherman's Friends), the Welsh folk classic "Ar Lan Y Mor (By the Sea)," "The Green Saillor" (with Simon Keenlyside), the Welsh folk classic "Ar Lan Y Mor (By the the Sea", "The Green Willow Tree" (with Sting), and of course an uplifting rendition of "Irish Rover". The collection includes songs that originate from a variety of regions, including Wales, England, Ireland, the Shetland Islands, and Brittany.The year 2024 marks 30 years since Bryn Terfel signed with Deutsche Grammophon, and in 2023 he was lauded for his moving performance at the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla of England. Tafel was the only artist to perform at both the coronation and the coronation concert at Windsor Castle. Bryn Terfel was born in North Wales in 1965. A graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, he won the BBC Cardiff International Vocal Competition in 1989, made his debut with Welsh National Opera in 1990 as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, and has had an extraordinary career, appearing in the world's leading concert halls and opera houses.
