Chailly Celebrates 70 Years & 45th Anniversary of Exclusive DECCA ContractOn February 20, 2023, the renowned Italian conductor Riccardo Chailly will turn 70 years old. It will also be 45 years since he signed an exclusive contract with Decca in 1978 for Rossini's opera "William Tell" with Pavarotti. To commemorate this occasion, an album of Verdi's choral works will be released. It features choral works from seven of Verdi's operas, including the Hebrew captives' chorus "Go, thoughts, on golden wings" from the opera "Nabucco," the triumphant chorus from the opera "Aida," and the Triumphal March. It was recorded at the Auditorium of La Scala in Milan. Universal Music/IMS
