Donatoni, Italian contemporary composer!This is a collection of chamber music works by Franco Donatoni (1927-2000), an Italian contemporary composer born in 1927. Donatoni studied composition at the Milan Conservatory (G. Verdi Conservatory) and at the G.B. Martini Conservatory in Bologna, and received his diploma in 1953 from the Conservatory of St. Cecilia in Rome, where he took an advanced composition course taught by Ildebrando Picetti. That same year he also met Bruno Maderna and participated in the Darmstadt Summer Courses in Contemporary Music in 1954, 1956, 1958, and 1961. Much of his work is based on extremely reduced basic materials, such as pitch cells and single pitches, from which he derives all of his subsequent developments. One idea is enough for a composition. There is no need to collect dozens of them. I have seen many times how ideas just go to waste, falling into whimsical musings and terrible confusion.
