The recording is also excellent, capturing the timbre of each voice and instrument well, and you will enjoy one of the best ETERNA analog recordings of the time in high sound quality. In recent years, there have been many playful performances and recordings of this masterpiece, but the famous choral conductor of the past, Martin Frömich (August 19, 1913 - January 13, 1998), faced the music as sincerely as he did Schütz and Bach, and his performance was always aimed at the beauty of the music and its depth as religious music. He played with the same seriousness as Schütz and Bach, aiming only at the beauty of the music and its depth as religious music.What makes this sincere performance so musically appealing is the exquisite ensemble of the choir, which he has trained with great care, and the voices that always evoke the human heart. The performance policy is to invite Leipzig musicologist Hans Gruss to research the period, to have the Antiphona (a Gregorian chant dating back a few dozen seconds) sung by the male voices before the five Psalms and Magnificat, and to perform only the two Magnificat works with instrumental accompaniment. The instrumental ensemble uses ancient instruments from the collection of the Musical Instrument Museum of the Karl-Marx-University of Leipzig and is conducted by Gruss himself. The beauty and pleasure of the graceful and lively instrumental ensemble intertwining with the pure sound of the chorus is beyond description. The matured analog recording, which makes the best use of the acoustics of the Luke Church in Dresden, captures these performances beautifully. (1/2)
