Haydn's 25th collection by the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra with Johannes Klumpp as the new music director is a collection of early works from Symphonies Nos. 2, 17-20! The dashing period approach of the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra is irresistible in this series of recordings of Haydn's complete symphonies. The orchestra's performances of Haydn's Symphonies No. 88, No. 92 "Oxford", No. 94 "Astonishment", No. 102 and No. 104 "London" were ranked No. 1 in the special issue of "Masterpieces of the New Era 500" by Recorded Arts magazine, and the richness of expression and high standard of performance have attracted attention. The recording of this series had been led by the brilliant Thomas Fai, but was halted in 2014 after he fell and seriously injured himself at home. Recording resumed in 2016 under the direction of Benjamin Spillner. The orchestra has appointed Johannes Klumpp as its new music director for the 2020/2021 season. This is the first recording under Klumpp's direction. Krump says, "Haydn's early works are rarely performed, and even we musicians know very little about them.These early works are full of Haydn's originality and give us joy." With this in mind, the orchestra, now with a new chef, is performing the early symphonies! We are very excited to see what the future holds! King International
