Description:
Earth, Wind & Fire released "Spirit" (original title: Spirit) in 1976. 1976 analog release that captures the moment when Earth, Wind & Fire became a dance band, as indicated by danceable numbers such as "Getaway," a 16-beat number that reached No. 1 on the R&B charts, and "Saturday Night," which reached No. 4. The album captures the moment when the band was enhancing its function as a dance band. On the other hand, a spiritual mood also pervades the entire album, as C. Stepney passed away during the making of this album. The concept of EW&F is clearly defined in every sense of the word, with the pyramid making its first appearance on the cover and the Kalimba Productions logo imprinted, and "Earth Wind & Fire," which was co-written with S. Scarborough, seems to convey this. The arrangement of "Spirit," a serene slow song dedicated to Stepney, is arranged by Tom Tom84.
