Long-awaited! The third album "Saci Pererê" ('80) by Banda Black Rio, the famous samba-funk band known as "Brazil's Earth Wind and Fire," has been reissued on CD! Formed in 1976 by saxophonist Oberdan Magalhaes and other great musicians who have supported many records recorded in Brazil. The legendary group Banda Black Rio succeeded in creating a full-fledged fusion of Brazilian music, especially samba, and North American black music. This is the last album of the early Banda Black Rio, which included Oberdan, who sadly passed away in 1984. It was their third album, and they were at the peak of their popularity. The jet-black grooves of "Miss Cheryl" and "Melissa" have been compared to those of Earth, Wind & Fire and Kool and the Gang, and their performance, with the essence of samba and jazz, is one of the best among the many Brazilian funk~rare groove albums. The cover of the famous song "Profissionalismo é Isso Aí" by João Bosco & Ardiles Blanqui is also very strong.
