The festival has been held every year since 1976 in the Netherlands and is one of the largest jazz festivals in the world, featuring such distinguished performers as Count Basie, Miles Davis, Billy Eckstein, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, James Taylor, Benny Goodman, Sarah Vaughan, and many others. This is the first official release of Ella Fitzgerald's concert on July 19, 1979, from the new "North Sea Jazz Concert" series of recordings of the festival's best performances.180g vinyl, original liner notes by jazz journalist Jeroen De Valk, original artwork by festival designer Hans Pols, limited to 1,800 white-colored vinyl copies.
