The Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, led by Carlo Montanaro, will perform Puccini's "Tosca" with a splendid lineup of soloists including Melody Moore (Tosca), Stefan Popp (Cavaradossi), Lester Lynch (Scarpia), and others, Puccini's masterpiece, "Tosca," first performed in 1900, marked the beginning of 20th century opera with such famous arias as "Live to sing, live to love" and "The stars are shining. Puccini's dramatic performance of this work about love and desire, with its impressive melody, is dazzling and powerful. The recording is not only a superb performance, but also a high quality sound recording, the result of the PENTATONE label's renowned technical expertise. Melody Moore, who plays the role of Tosca, is a talented singer who also showed her overwhelming presence as Desdemona in Verdi's "Otero" (PTC 5186562) and as Minnie in Puccini's "Daughter of the West" (PTC-5186778).He has also released solo albums "American Song Album" (PTC-5186770) and "In Memory of Tebaldi" (PTC-5187070).
