Brüchen & 18th Century Orchestra! Rameau's orchestral suite, fully restored! Zoroastre" depicts the power struggle and love of Zoroastrian Zoroaster, the founder of fire worship in ancient Persia, and was the first French opera to use the clarinet. The title page of the score describes it as an "opera for peace," which is quite different from the "musical tragedies" (lyric tragedies) that were popular in France at the time. The suite from "Nice," composed in the pastoral style, is the second volume of Rameau's orchestral suites, performed by Brüchen and the 18th Century Orchestra. Rameau followed two rules when composing his operas. The music must convey the content of the performance of the opera, and the music must not bore the audience. Brüchen and the 18th Century Orchestra's "Rameau" perfectly expresses these two rules that Rameau followed in his own performance.Following the first collection (GCD C81103), which included "Acantes et Cephees" & "Festival de l'Ebe," the famous performances of "Nice" & "Zoroastre" are fully restored!
