The brilliant harpsichordist Mitzi Meyerson, an original member of the Trio Sonnerie, formed in 1982, and a professor of harpsichord at the Berlin University of the Arts, will be performing the "Violin Sonatas, Op.1" by Somis! . Mayerson, who has been discovering chamber music works by Richard Jones, Gottlieb Muffat, and others buried in history, will present the Violin Sonata Collection by Giovanni Battista Somis (1686-1763), an Italian violinist and composer from the first half of the 18th century. Somis was a contemporary of Giuseppe Tartini, the next generation of his teacher Arcangelo Corelli, and one of the leading musicians of the Piedmontese school and Italy at that time.In Paris, which he visited in 1733, he performed his violin at the conseil spirituelle to great acclaim, and his influence on the French violin school was extremely significant. A teacher of Pugnani and Leclerc, Somis's "Violin Sonatas Op.1" is a collection of 12 sonatas published in Amsterdam in 1717. The ensemble of Meyerson and friends reveals the fame and music of Somis, who was in the vein of Corelli, and who, despite his immense presence with Tartini, is now buried in history. Tokyo M Plus
