New recordings of 18th century orchestras! Mozart's Oboe Concerto! The Orchestra of the 18th Century, founded by Brüchen, has been active worldwide as a pioneer of ancient music orchestras. Even after Brüchen's death, the orchestra has continued its activities, including world tours with guest conductors. The first recording of the 18th Century Orchestra, which has entered the new "post-Brüchen era," is a collection of Mozart's oboe works featuring oboist Frank de Braijne, who has long been a member of the 18th Century Orchestra and has created the beautiful sound of its woodwind section. The virtuoso Brynne, who is principal player of the Enschede Chamber Orchestra as well as the 18th Century Orchestra, will be seen here playing the great orchestral legacy of France Brugghen. Kenneth Montgomery, a conductor from Belfast, Northern Ireland, who studied under Adrian Boult at the Royal College of Music (RCM) and served as principal conductor of the Ulster Orchestra, was awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2010, and has recently been a guest conductor with the 18th Century Orchestra.
