A gem recognized by Abbado and Jansons. Gustavo Gimeno is one of the world's most popular conductors. The sixth Debussy album with the Luxembourg Philharmonic is a SACD hybrid disc. The sixth release on the PENTATONE label with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the world's hottest young conductor, Gustavo Gimeno, is a Debussy album, celebrating the 100th anniversary of his death in 2018. Jimeno was appointed principal percussionist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2001. He then studied conducting as a way to further his studies as a musician, and is one of the first young musicians whose talent has blossomed: he served as assistant conductor to Mariss Jansons at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons, and in January 2014, he made his Jansons' He made his debut with the Concertgebouw in January 2014 as Jansons' understudy and became a conductor attracting worldwide attention. His debut performance in Japan as a conductor was with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra in September 2013, followed by two visits to Japan in 2015. His debut in Japan was in September 2013 with the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by two more visits to Japan in 2015, the most successful of which was with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in November of the same year, making him a household name in the Japanese music world. Hymeno's performance is rich in color.From the beginning of "The Sea," the performance is three-dimensional and colorful. The rich sound of the orchestra can be heard in the first set of "Images" arranged by Colin Matthews for this recording. The "Six Ancient Epigraphs" is an orchestral version arranged by Rudolf Escher in 1978.
