Thielemann & Dresden's "Die Zauberflote" Thielemann & Staatskapelle Dresden present Weber's "Die Zauberflote". Thielemann has established a good relationship with the Staatskapelle Dresden since assuming the position of principal conductor in 2012, and in 2013 he was appointed artistic director of the Salzburg Easter Festival, where he has appeared with the orchestra to create a new era for Dresden. This video was made at his home base, the Semperoper, from April 29 to May 3, 2015. Weber is a composer with whom we have a connection, having served as court music director here in Dresden, and "The Magic Bullet Archer" is an eighteenth-century performance at the Dresden State Opera. The disc of the same performance by the same orchestra and Carlos Kleiber has been heard as a masterpiece, and Thielemann's performance is no less passionate than the legendary masterpiece. From the overture, the performance is overwhelmingly dynamic and full of dynamism, and the performance is dazzling and vivid. The cast of singers is also outstanding, with Georg Zeppenfeldt, who plays the villain Caspar, giving an outstanding performance and singing, and expressing the darkness of Caspar's character beautifully.
