Flying Lotus' latest work "YASUKE" will be released! Featuring Thundercat, Denzel Curry, Niki Randa and more! Flying Lotus emerged from the beat music scene that grew rapidly in the mid-2000s in the epicenter of Los Angeles, and has been creating a new sound that fuses jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music. Flying Lotus has been a major force in the music industry since its inception in 1969, when he founded his own music label, Brainfeeder, and has produced superstars such as Thundercat and Kamasi Washington, and has pushed his cutting-edge sound into the mainstream with Kendrick Lamar, the late Mac Miller, and Donald Glover a.k.a. Childish Gambino. The band's music is also known for its unique aesthetic and sound. Meanwhile, Flying Lotus continues to inspire music and culture fans through music videos created with a unique aesthetic and visual projects such as the ultra-experimental horror-comedy film "KUSO". Flying Lotus will be releasing the music for the Netflix original anime series "Yasuke" as a single work.Lashon Thomas conceived, produced, and directed the animation, which was produced by MAPPA, the internationally and domestically acclaimed animation studio whose works include "Dorohedoro," "Shinkage no Kyojin The Final Season," and "Jutsu Kaisen," with character design by Ken Koike ("LUPIN the Third: The Woman called Fujiko Mine"). The character design is by Ken Koike ("LUPIN the Third - A Woman Called Fujiko Mine"). With the exception of a few songs such as "Black Gold feat. Thundercat" and "Between Memories feat. Niki Randa," which were released earlier, most of the songs on the "YASUKE" album are instrumental. Thundercat not only provided vocals on the opening theme, but also showcased his outstanding bass playing throughout.The hybrid drum patterns, which mix traditional Japanese percussion instruments such as taiko drums and clappers with African percussion instruments such as the djembe to represent the life of Yasuke, an African-Japanese who lived during the Warring States period, is one of the main characteristics of this album, but its beat production and composition are also reminiscent of earlier styles such as "Reset EP," "Los Angeles," and "Cosmogramma. The beat production and composition recall the style of earlier albums such as "Reset EP," "Los Angeles," and "Cosmogramma. He also reveals that J. Dilla had an influence on his approach, adding a unique atmosphere created by synthesizers. The import version of the LP will be released on red vinyl.
