He is the face of tsapiky, the traditional music of Madagascar, and has been shaping the sound of Madagascar for decades. Recorded in just three days at Studio Black Box with analog recording master Peter Deimel, Fanjiry is a work that reduces the tsapik band to "one guitar and one heartbeat. Contrary to the conventional high-tension sound, this album captures the essence of Tsapik with a single guitar and a sound of quiet impulsiveness. The title "Fanjiry" (the last remaining star before dawn) is literally a quiet moment just before the world wakes up, with only one guitar still pointing forward, holding the whole history.
