Dieter Klecker (1936-2011) was a German clarinetist and musicologist. After studying at the Northwest German Music Academy, he worked as a solo clarinetist in many orchestras, and then as a radio broadcaster and concert soloist. In 1969, he founded the Consortium Classicum, a group of leading orchestras' principal players and music academy professors, to revive various wind works from the 18th and 19th centuries. The Consortium Classicum was founded in the 1969's by a group of leading orchestral principal players and music academy professors to revive various wind works from the 18th and 19th centuries, including Mozart and Haydn, as well as many unknown works and arrangements for harmonic music of the same period.This performance of "The Magic Bullet" is based on a Harmonie Musik arrangement of unknown author, discovered by Klecker in the library of the Augustin Abbey of Altbrün. Harmonie Musik" was originally created in the late 18th century for small ensembles at the court in Vienna, and was a form of music performed by a wind ensemble consisting of eight members (oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, and two horns each, with one double bass to augment the bass). The music was arranged and performed from operas and symphonies by Mozart and Beethoven, which were popular at the time.
