Description:

My great-grandfather was Lauri Polla of Sibelius. A new and exciting collection of genre-defying works! My great-grandfather was the composer Jean Sibelius, my grandfather was the conductor Jussi Jaras, my mother was an orchestral musician, and my father played jazz as an amateur. ...... Lauri Polla (1977-) is internationally known as a composer and player of various instruments. His orchestral works have been performed by orchestras in many countries, and his "Kohota" commissioned by the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra was premiered in the opening concert at the 2016 Helsinki Festival. Since 2005, he has been playing bass guitar in Stratovarius, one of Finland's most famous metal bands. Since 2005, he has been playing bass in the Finnish metal band "Stratovarius".The second law of thermodynamics: ΔS > 0 entropy can be used to measure clutter and time direction. ......" (Simo Huotari, Professor of Physics, University of Helsinki). Entropia, the title of the album, is a concerto that combines two distinct contrasts: orchestra and bass guitar. Lauri Polla says, "I used the division of the encounter and relationship between two people as an allegory for entropy. From the "two" arises clutter, destruction, chaos, and something more: the third of the four movements was also performed in December 2017 at a concert in Helsinki celebrating the 100th anniversary of Finland's independence, conducted by Polla's bass, Jarkko Kuusisto (1974-). Titled "Kohota," a Finnish word with different meanings in different contexts, such as "point, place, position, section, paragraph, clause, immediately," it is an orchestral work with the "rapper" as soloist.Rap by Papeli T. (Henri Pulkkinen) and percussion by Samuli Kosminen, who Polla describes as "a wonderfully expressive artist who makes very interesting texts." Polla is responsible for the "omnivelk," a combination of two historical instruments: the lautenwerk (lute = harpsichord) and the viola organista (based on a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci). The "Domino Suite" consists of three pieces: "Stasis," "Domino," and "Surrender. Improvisation is incorporated into the notated music, with impressive use of sound processing by Samuli Kosminen.
