Centered around Ronald Nygard (g), with whom he has been making music since 1978, and Hans Olav “Hasse” Horrigmoe (b), who has also been actively involved with ORESUNDSPACECOLLECTIVE in recent years, the blues-rock band SENTRALVASKERIET was formed around 1980. After changing their name to TANGLEEDGE in the summer of ’82, they continued to operate in the underground scene for many years, using psychedelic-infused improvisation—which blended a wide range of musical styles, from progressive rock, krautrock, and post-punk to free jazz and folk music—all blended into a wildly psychedelic, improvised sound—this Norwegian psychedelic rock band maintained a long-standing underground presence. A live album released in ’92 by their independent label, Mushroom Productions, capturing their November 1, ’91, performance in Narvik, Norway: Norske Albumklassikere is reissuing this live album on CD in '26! Shortly after its initial CD release, this album was also released on LP by the Colours label—the hub of the 1990s Nordic progressive rock scene that produced acts like LANDBERK and ANGLAGARD—and quickly gained widespread recognition among progressive rock fans both in Norway and abroad. The setlist for this concert featured not only “The Cryptic Empire and the Principal Sanctuary” and “Walk of the Frozen Ones”—which were later included as studio tracks on the 1993 album *EULOGY* (though the recordings themselves were made in 1990)—but also “Cancalam,” “ *Beyond the Hills of Inhibition*—all live staples from that era. Recorded on a two-track tape, the raw and powerful soundscape authentically conveys the maturity and depth the band had cultivated through over a decade of continuous activity in the underground scene. This is a superb release that allows you to fully immerse yourself in a trippy, psychedelic jam sound—reminiscent of HAWKWIND and AMON DUUL—where the music unfolds as it flows! The master uses newly remastered audio by engineer Giert Claussen, who handles all of this label’s releases.
