Asbjorn Krogtoft, aka "Asa," is a multi-instrumentalist/SSW who has been a member of some of the leading rock bands in the Norwegian music scene, including 126, TABOO, and POPOL ACE in the late 70's. He also works as a songwriter and producer in parallel with his solo work,The '83 album, released on his own label Igloo Records, was released on CD for the first time in 2011 on the Norwegian label Norske Albumklassikere. This album features Terje Nilsen (b) and Finn Sletten (drs/perc) from CROSSBREEZE, an obscure progressive band that released their only album in '75,The band is supported by jazz pianist Jan Gunnar Hoff (p/org) and female vocalist Wanja Oro (vo), who continues to be active as a leader of her own group, HOFF ENSEMBLE, as of 2011. The band's musical style is a more modern and stylish take on the West Coast-influenced pop-rock of their 70's work, with a touch of the 80's. The master was newly remastered by Giert Claussen, the engineer who handles all of the label's productions, and is based on the original LP.
