B.E.F. (British Electric Foundation / B.E.F.) is the project of Martin Ware and Ian Craig Marsh of the pioneering 80s electro-pop group Human League, who worked alongside Heaven 17 after the group split. B.E.F. (British Electric Foundation). B.E.F.'s 8-track album "Music for Stowaways", released on cassette tape only on Virgin Records in 1981, is now available for the first time on CD, titled after the original Sony portable cassette player (later called "Walkman"), the latest device of the time. CD version. For this CD release, in addition to the two songs "B.E.F. Ident" and "A Baby Called Billy," which appeared only on the new-look analog record "Music for Listening To," released in late 1981 with a revised track listing, the 12-inch single under the name Heaven 17 Additional tracks include the coupling track "Honeymoon In New York" and others. Although the album was not a commercial success, it contained a number of innovative sounds, including an instrumental version of "Groove Thang," released as the debut single on Heaven 17, and "The Old At Rest," derived from "Wichita Lineman," also on Heaven 17. It inspired many subsequent electronic artists.
