A collection of Mozart organ works by David Goode! David Goode, who recorded the complete organ works of J.S. Bach (SIGCD640) on the organ at Trinity College, Cambridge University, presents a collection of Mozart's organ works! Mozart praised the organ as the "king of instruments" and loved to improvise, but only a few works were actually written for the organ. In addition to works clearly intended for the organ, this album contains a selection of keyboard works that are stylistically and structurally suitable for organ performance. In the program notes, Gude himself discusses how the pieces should be played with both hands and feet, and what kind of tone (registration) should be used. David Goode studied as a Music Scholar at Eton College and as an Organ Scholar at King's College, Cambridge University, where he received his M.A. degree. He has served as Associate Organist at Christ Church, Oxford University, and Organist-in-Residence at the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, which has one of the largest church organs in the world.In 2005, he returned to his alma mater, Eton College, where he served as organist and head of keyboard instruments for many years.
