The album features a series of arias written for Giuseppe Maria Boschi, a famous baritone who was very popular in London during the era of Handel and Bononcini and who is documented to have appeared in over 83 operas between 1703 and 1729. The album contains a full array of arias written for Giuseppe Maria Boschi, who had a great deal of success with the legendary castrato Farinelli and other popular singers of the time, and many unknown works can also be heard. The baritone's intense and dramatic power is irresistible. The Apkordis Ensemble, an up-and-coming group that has recorded with Deutsche Harmonia Mundi, provides excellent support for Foresti's powerful and rich singing.
