When David Coverdale joined Deep Purple in 1973, he was an unknown 21-year-old singer/songwriter. He would go on to release three classic albums as Deep Purple's frontman with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and a few years later he would begin his own musical journey with his own band, Whitesnake, establishing himself as one of the most iconic hard rock bands of all time. The band established itself as one of the most iconic hard rock bands of its time, and became known as one of the best rock vocalists of all time. On the 50th anniversary of his debut as a member of Deep Purple in 1973, Whitesnake released a special version of THE PURPLE ALBUM in 2015 to pay tribute to his three-year tenure in the legendary rock band Deep Purple. PURPLE ALBUM" is now available in a new guise as "THE PURPLE ALBUM: SPECIAL GOLD EDITION"...! THE PURPLE ALBUM: SPECIAL GOLD EDITION" features 15 newly remixed and remastered songs from the original 2015 recordings, plus the song that helped David Coverdale earn his place as Deep Purple's frontman. In addition to the deluxe 2CD+Blu-ray edition, the album is also available in three formats: a CD with the latest remixes and remasters of THE PURPLE ALBUM, a 2CD and a 2CD Gold Analog Edition, and a 2CD Gold Analog Edition. David Coverdale is joined by guitarist Reb Beach, bassist Michael Devin, guitarist Joel Hoekstra, who is making his first appearance on a Whitesnake album with this album, and drummer Tommy Aldridge, who is making his first appearance on a Whitesnake album since 1989's SLIP OF THE The band recorded 2015's THE PURPLE ALBUM with a lineup that included drummer Tommy Aldridge, who became involved in his first Whitesnake studio album since 1989's "TOUNGUE". On this album, they have recorded a number of gems from Deep Purple's "BURN" (1974), "Stormbringer" (1974), and "Come Taste the Band" (1975), which were released during David Coverdale's tenure, as well as "Lay Down The band has taken fan favorites such as "Stay Down," "Lady Double Dealer," and "You Keep On Moving" and rearranged them in the Whitesnake style to create a new collection of songs.
