This is the deluxe edition of We Are, the hit album released this March by singer/pianist/composer Jon Batiste, who has been nominated for a Grammy and an Emmy, and has won a Golden Globe and an Academy Award in the music category. We Are" pays homage to Black American culture while freely traversing jazz, R&B, pop, funk, hip-hop, and classical music, incorporating his own roots and previous traditions, while blending them with an entirely new sound that looks to evolution and the future. The album was a hit. His hit "I Need You" debuted at #1 on the AAA radio charts, his music video has received over 10 million views, and he has made guest appearances on such popular programs as "American Idol," "The Today Show," and "CBS This Morning. The deluxe edition of this release includes 13 new songs in addition to the original 13. Singer/songwriter Tori Kelly and Big Freedia, known as the Queen of Bounce, have joined the band, adding a new essence to the album.
