This is a collection of songs by Karłowicz and Monieuszko from 19th century Poland, sung by Piotr Beczawa, one of Poland's most celebrated tenors, who has sung in major opera houses around the world, including Chicago, New York, Berlin, Barcelona, Vienna, and Zurich. The sound of the Steinway played by Bechawa, one of the most outstanding singers of contemporary opera, and Helmut Deutsch, a famous Viennese song accompanist, and the collaboration between the Polish National Chopin Institute and the Polish National Opera, will promote a reappraisal of Karłowicz and Moneuszko that has intensified in recent years.
