Description:
A rare collection of Fanny Hensel songs, including many first recordings, and a voice and piano treatment that grows with each passing year. Although much has been revealed about her life by researchers, and many handwritten scores have been made available, not much is known about her music, which is still very important. To overcome this situation, a new collection of songs, including rare first recordings, has been released by a group led by tenor Tim Parker-Langston, who has studied Hensel's songs and published scores of 239 songs on "HENSELSONGS ONLINE. The recordings were made at the Mendelssohn House, where Hensel himself once lived. The album begins with Hensel's early works when he was a teenager and develops chronologically through his later years. As we move forward, we can hear his writing style developing and becoming more and more expressive musically. The last piece on the album, "Vorwurf," was published posthumously by the composer's brother Felix as Hansel's Op. 10. King International
