This is an entertaining album performed by a "pocket symphony orchestra" consisting of two violins, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, baritone saxophone, accordion, harp, and percussion. The concept is a tour of Beethoven's life in the style of Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," with many tricks backed by profound knowledge that will make any Beethoven lover smile. The title of the album is a confident reference to Beethoven's deafness, a condition that would have delighted him. Surprisingly, the accordion plays an active role without any discomfort.
