Since their debut in 1984, Bon Jovi has remained one of the leading bands in the American hard rock scene. 1986's "Wild In The Streets" spent eight consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. album charts. The band continued to perform consistently, and in 1988, their album "New Jersey" spent four consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. album charts, earning them the position of top band in the U.S. While the band continued to perform consistently, they were also active in charity work, and performed at the closing ceremony of the Salt Lake City Olympics in February 2002. As a warm-up for recording their new album, the band played a secret gig at a live house in New Orleans on May 6, 2002. This was broadcasted as a special program on PBS radio (in the US), and this album is a live album of the recordings from this broadcast.
