Its format, which allows performers to freely choose their instruments from within a given ensemble, is hugely popular not only in ensemble contests but also in wind ensemble competitions! The long-awaited third installment of the “Flexible Series” features a surprising lineup. It includes the ultimate flexible piece, *Three Folk Songs*, which—for the first time ever—can be performed by groups ranging from three players to a full wind ensemble; arrangements of classic masterpieces *The Moldau* and *For the Children*, as well as easier-to-play pieces for smaller ensembles like *Flower Crown* and *Far Beyond the Waves*—but that’s not all. The series also includes *Dance of Dawn*, which features a percussion ensemble; commissioned new work *Candy Robo*—based on the premise that “an unbalanced instrumentation makes it more interesting”—and even the *“Girls und Panzer” Suite*, which many of you have surely been eagerly awaiting! We present eight vibrant pieces that expand the concept of “flexibility.” This recording features a wind band instrumentation of 11 to 12 players, tailored to real-world performance settings. (*Three Folk Songs* is a brass trio.) To help with the often-troublesome task of part assignment, the booklet includes the specific part assignments used during the recording for every piece!
