After 20 years of work, Megumi Ito has completed the CD series "Schumanniana. Her next path is Schubert. Ito won the first prize at the Munich International Competition with her performance of Sonata D.958, which is included on this CD. However, as a result of introspection, Ito decided not to perform the piece, saying, "I don't have the courage to face the 'death' that Schubert had in mind. Twenty years have passed since then. After 20 years of playing Schumann, and after a period of training and maturation, the day has come for me to unleash it. From Schumann to Schubert: In the first half of the 19th century, Schubert was known as a composer of songs. It was Schumann who reappraised Schubert's numerous instrumental compositions, as he famously discovered with the discovery of the "Greats."
