Anektoten, the pioneers of Nordic progressive rock known for their heavy Mellotron sounds and ethereal melodies, release a 2-disc deluxe edition of their groundbreaking 1993 debut album *Darkness*! This edition features the latest remaster of the original album, plus 10 previously unreleased demo tracks recorded between 1990 and 1993, prior to their official debut! Disc 1 features the original studio album, plus the bonus track “SadRain,” previously available only on the Japanese edition of *Darkness* and the compilation album *Chapters*. It has been remastered from Hans Fredriksson’s original master tapes. Disc 2 contains 10 previously unreleased demo tracks recorded between 1990 and 1993, prior to their debut. These sessions offer a rare glimpse into the band’s formative years, capturing the raw atmosphere of the recording process and the traces of their trial and error, revealing the band’s authentic essence and the process by which they groped their way toward their musical vision. Disc 2 features restoration and mixing of the original tapes by Niklas Barker, as well as mastering by Hans Fredriksson. This release comes in an 8-panel digipak format, and the 20-page booklet includes detailed recording logs, in-depth commentary on the evolution of the songs, and numerous rare early photos of the band.
