This is the first studio album in 18 years, since the album "A Bigger Bang" released in 2005. The album contains 12 songs, and was recorded at various locations around the world, including Henson Recording Studios in Los Angeles, Metropolis Studios in London, Sanctuary Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, Electric Lady Studios in New York City, and The Hit Factory/Jamano Studios in New York City. One bonus track will be included in the Japanese edition only. Hackney Diamonds" is the first collaboration between the Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood) and New York-based producer and musician Andrew Watt. Andrew won the Producer of the Year Award at the 2021 Grammy Awards and has previously worked with Pearl Jam, Iggy Pop, and Elton John. The video for the first single, "Angry," stars Sidney Sweeney and was directed by François Rousselet. The original artwork for Hackney Diamonds was created by digital animator Paulina Almira.
